UE 5.4 project. Also compatible with UE 5.5 (and probably many future versions).


This is an experimental demo project that uses skeletal animations to move clouds in Unreal Engine.

The project uses the VDB / SVT Helper plugin that allows displaying up to 21 VDB / SVT clouds in a single level. The project will not work and not show anything if you don't own the VDB / SVT Helper plugin. If you own the plugin, make sure to enable it in your plugin list.

Data:
* free animation data from Epic's Paragon Rampage character

* free VDBs licensed as CC0 (Public Domain) from JangaFX

* a custom pumpkin VDB that I created in Blender


I also recommend using a powerful computer with a powerful graphics card because Unreal's volumetric clouds and VDB/SVT streaming can be quite expensive to render, especially if you increase volumetric clouds resolution and quality.

NB: I still have an unresolved issue with my blueprint, changing parameters of recompiling the blueprint looses the skeletal bone positions and I haven't been able to fix it yet. If anyone finds a solution I would love to hear it, and I could update the project for everyone to get the fix.
